We had our first rehearsal after school.

It wasn’t a huge success. Angie’s sardine fan club turned up and squealed madly whenever she came on stage, which meant she kept forgetting her lines. Prince Herring’s tentacles got tangled up. Bonnie Blobfish and Harriet Hagfish, the Scary Sisters, got into an argument about who was scariest. The Fairy Codmother went into her shell and wouldn’t come out.

I didn’t do too badly. Angie only fell off my back three times. Parking is a bit harder than I thought.

By the end of the rehearsal, Miss Cuttle was bright purple, yellow, blue and pink, and quivering under a rock. Like Ozzie, she changes colour when she’s stressed.
